La Jolla Crossroads (Sewer)

La Jolla Crossroads (Sewer)
// Project Overview

La Jolla Crossroads Sewer Facilities represent a major infrastructure effort under one of San Diego's largest mixed-use developments. Prior to adding up to 75 feet of fill over the site, the original trunk sewer (72-inch PLRCP) and an 18-inch sewer line had to be rerouted to accommodate new grades.

SB&O handled the feasibility, alignment, and structural design requirements so the new lines could withstand significant overburden. A key design element was a 7'x 7' cast-in-place concrete box 1,500 feet long, installed at the same elevation as the new sewer lines. Through boundary/topographic surveys, final engineering, and construction staking, the firm ensured uninterrupted service while enabling high-density development above.
