Mast Boulevard
Lakeside, CA
Roadway Extension
Description
The Mast Boulevard project extended approximately 1.2 miles of major roadway near the Santee city limits, connecting to Riverford Road and Riverside Drive. The corridor runs adjacent to the San Diego River floodplain, requiring sophisticated drainage solutions. SB&O prepared roadway plan and profile designs, specifying an interim paved width and ultimate 82-foot right-of-way. The firm designed a double 12’ x 4’ reinforced concrete box culvert to handle runoff, along with riprap and vegetated channels. The project also included a new traffic signal at Riverford Road and Riverside Drive, minimal future signal modifications, and detailed right-of-way acquisition documents for 77 separate parcels.
