Sewer Infrastructure
The Allred-Collins Business Park Sewer project focused on designing and constructing sewer infrastructure to serve a 90-acre industrial and business hub in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. This work entailed advanced feasibility studies, alignment selections, and cost projections. SB&O performed a thorough hydraulic assessment of existing and proposed sewer networks, including evaluating the potential for flows to be diverted from Tecolote Canyon. The design included 3.9 miles of gravity sewer mains, a 1.3 MGD pump station set 43 feet below finish grade, and dual force mains. This challenging effort required corrosion-resistant materials, odor control systems, and 6-hour emergency storage to meet municipal standards and future growth.
- Conducted capacity and feasibility analyses for trunk sewer
- Designed pump station (1.3 MGD) and force main alignment
- Prepared cost estimates and surge analyses
- Coordinated with local agencies for design approvals
- Provided boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys
