- The Surveying Manager (Survey Department Manager) is responsible for the overall direction, production, and quality control within the Survey Department. This position requires extensive leadership experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage people, projects, and department operations.

Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of California
10+ years of professional experience in land surveying
3+ years in a supervisory role managing a survey team
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, Leica, and other survey-related software
Strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills
California driver’s license required
- Responsibilities

Supervise the entire Survey Department staff
Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and production workflows
Coordinate with CEO, Operations Manager, and Civil Department Manager
Review and approve contracts, proposals, project documents (PDs), and change orders
Manage survey project scheduling, field crew coordination, and client communication
Develop and implement the Survey Department Marketing Plan
Oversee job tracking, job numbering systems, and department financial management
Conduct staff hiring, evaluations, and salary adjustments
Prepare and manage the Annual Survey Department Budget
